SUMMARY:DLR_Raumfahrt_Show 2025/2026
DESCRIPTION:The DLR_Raumfahrt_Show is going on tour again! Under the motto “A journey through time into the future”\, the interactive stage programme invites schoolchildren on a fascinating excursion into the world of tomorrow. Will there be space hotels one day? Or research stations on the moon or Mars? In addition to such exciting questions about space travel\, the educational and entertaining presentation also covers other topics and projects that the German Aerospace Centre (DLR) is working on – from next-generation aircraft to transport and energy research. \nThe 90-minute show is deliberately aimed at younger pupils in years 4 to 6\, with the presenters introducing them to current research projects as well as more far-reaching visions of the future\, with the audience being involved time and again. Sometimes everyone takes part in training for the flight into space\, sometimes children help on stage with an experiment using a thermal imaging camera. Some of the experimental set-ups were developed especially for the tour by DLR’s school laboratories\, the DLR_School_Labs. Others come from the team of the well-known science show “Die Physikanten”. The programme is often spectacular – for example\, when huge rings of fog float across the hall over the heads of the audience. Other parts of the programme are more fun – for example when hula hoops or a balloon in the shape of a unicorn are used. Or when the time machine “Holly” – another new feature of the DLR_Raumfahrt_Show – secretly tells the audience what it thinks during the quiz. \nFurther information and the tour schedule can be found here. \nRegistration required!

DESCRIPTION:This is the conference about all aspects of high temperature capillarity and surface-interface phenomena. It is the place\, where the world’s top researchers in the field\, senior scientists as well as young researchers gather and present their latest results. The HTC conferences look back on a long-lasting tradition since 1994. We are especially proud to have the opportunity and the privilege to organize this important event. \nThe 12th conference of this series will take place at the new venue German Aerospace Center (DLR)\, Cologne\, Porz-Wahn\, Germany\, from 4-7 May\, 2026 (NEW). \nThere will be oral & poster sessions as well as contributed and invited presentations. There will be Young Presenters Awards for the best posters- and oral presentations. \nWe expect around 130 of the best scientists of the field\, including yourself. DESCRIPTION:The Bonn Science Night\, which takes place every two years\, will be held in 2026 under the motto “Diagnosis: Future”. Universities\, research institutes\, research museums and science organisations from the Bonn region present their current projects in the “tent city of knowledge” in the middle of Bonn’s city centre. DLR will be represented there again this year: \nEmbark on a journey of discovery with VR headsets – collaborate live with AI robots \nHow humans and robots can become good partners. At Bonn Science Night\, we will be presenting our hands-on AI research. Step into our virtual laboratory and experience how artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) will enable us to work safely with machines in the future. \nHumans decide what AI learns. \nAt the DLR Institute for AI Safety and Security\, we research how humans and AI robots can interact safely. To achieve this\, we use human-in-the-loop approaches. In these approaches\, humans are always actively involved in automated processes. They are partners\, trainers and controllers of artificial intelligence\, and they always have the final say to ensure that no mistakes are made. This ensures that AI only learns and performs the correct actions. \nVirtual training for real challenges \nWith the help of digital twins\, we develop highly realistic computer simulations to improve human-AI interaction. Digital twins are exact digital representations of real objects. We incorporate these into a computer simulation that replicates a real factory\, for example\, with its various work steps\, assembly lines and robots. This enables us to create a virtual working environment in which we can safely train AI robots. \nLive experience via VR glasses and controllers.\nYou can ‘enter’ this virtual world and use the controllers to perform various actions as if you were really there. This enables us to test robotics workstations and the interaction between humans and AI-controlled machines or robots\, and to continuously improve them without exposing real people or machines to risk. Try it out for yourself! \nUsing AI\, human-in-the-loop and VR simulations\, we help people and companies further develop processes efficiently and cost-effectively\, but above all safely. \n  \nAs well\, the Project Management Agency for Aeronautics Research will be there with its own tent presenting projects from the LuFo aeronautics research programme. \nWe look forward to your visit!
