The 6th Sustainability Summit will take place at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen from 17 to 18 November 2025.
Our central theme for 2025 has been decided:

Sustainability and digitalisation – the
the twin transition in research organisations

Digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) are playing an increasingly important role in our professional and everyday lives. Both offer enormous potential for becoming more sustainable, but also harbour risks for people and the environment that need to be carefully considered. At the Helmholtz Sustainability Summit, we will focus on these interactions between sustainability, digitalisation and AI: How should digitalisation be designed so that it has a sustainable impact on people and the environment? How can AI be trained to offer sustainable solutions? Which concepts and tools could help research institutions to achieve sustainability goals?

The Helmholtz Sustainability Summit is a source of inspiration and a meeting place that promotes personal exchange between interested parties and those responsible, regardless of their professional or institutional affiliation. The Helmholtz Sustainability Forum working group therefore invites you to actively participate in the dialogue on linking sustainability, digitalisation and AI.
