The new EU Product Liability Directive – update or upgrade for European technology law?

Product liability for innovative systems, especially in the field of artificial intelligence, raises challenging dogmatic and practical questions both at a general level and in relation to specific sectors. The comparative law conference organised in cooperation with the Robotics & AI Law Society (RAILS) and the Institute for AI Safety (DLR) is dedicated to the topic in the context of national and European approaches. In particular, the effects of the new EU Product Liability Directive, which is about to be adopted and will replace the previous Directive 85/374/EEC, will be discussed. Voices from science and practice will be brought together.
