Public | FreeThe year 2025 has been declared the “International Year of Quantum Science and Technology” by the UN General Conference. This global initiative aims to recognise the pioneering contributions of quantum science to technological progress over the past 100 years, raise global awareness of its importance for sustainable development in the 21st century and ensure that all nations have access to education in the field of quantum physics. A total of 57 countries are taking part in this important year, which also emphasises the international unifying effect of science. In Germany, the German Physical Society is coordinating the activities of the Quantum Year 2025, which will be launched at the opening ceremony in Ulm. Nobel Prize winner Anne L’ Huillier has been invited by DLR.
