Public | FreeMASCOT is a 30 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm small lander that was deployed onto the surface of asteroid Ryugu in October 2018 by JAXA’s Hayabusa2 mission. There, it operated for 17 hours and collected valuable data using its camera, radiometer and magnetometer. The presentation summarizes the findings of MASCOT on the surface of Ryugu and sets the results into context with remote sensing observations by the Hayabusa2 spacecraft and the recently returned samples from Ryugu to Earth.
