Open Day at DLR Stuttgart

The German Aerospace Center’s (DLR) Stuttgart site will open its doors to visitors for a journey of discovery into the fascinating worlds of science and engineering from 11:00 to 18:00 on 15 July 2017. Visitors can expect to enjoy an exciting programme for young and old. Learn more about DLR’s research work and join us in uncovering tomorrow’s knowledge. DLR researchers in Stuttgart will present current projects and missions from the areas of aeronautics and space, energy, transport and security.

Programme:
The Open Day programme will be available for download here before the event. A programme flyer with a map (available at the entrances and information stands) will help guide visitors on the day itself.

Among other things, visitors can look forward to:
Tours through the institutes
Interactive activities and experiments for young scientists
Exciting talks on current research topics
Information on education and careers at DLR
Quiz with prizes

Admission is free.

Getting there:
DLR Stuttgart is located on the grounds of Stuttgart University, Campus Vaihingen. Visitors can find a detailed description of how to get there here.
We strongly advise visitors to travel by public transport (S-Bahn regional railway stop ‘Universität’), as parking is extremely limited on the grounds of the Stuttgart-Vaihingen Campus. Please visit the website of the Stuttgart public transport company VVS for information on how to get to the grounds by public transport.

Rucksacks and other larger luggage items:
We kindly request that visitors refrain from bringing heavy luggage and rucksacks.

Pets on the grounds:
Pets are not permitted on the grounds of DLR Stuttgart.

Smoking:
Smoking is only permitted in the designated areas.
