13. November 2018 - 16. November 2018
Not publicThe United Nations (UN) and Germany are co-organising a high-level forum (HLF) that will take place on 13–16 November 2018 at the UN Campus in Bonn. The HLF is the third event in this series, which was initiated by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) in 2016. The first two events took place in Dubai and were designed as a forum to present suggestions for the 50th anniversary of the UN Space Conference, UNISPACE+50, which took place in Vienna in June 2018. This year’s HLF is the first opportunity to discuss the implementation of the resolutions made at UNISPACE+50.
The event is designed to strengthen international dialogue on how aerospace technologies and applications can be used in the resolution of global challenges and for sustainable development. Senior figures from government and industry, as well as from civil society, will present practical examples. Representatives of each group will also seek to acquire a common understanding of how international collaboration in the field of aerospace can be focused more strongly on the global development agendas.
The HLF will bring together around 120 experts from national, regional and international aerospace organisations operating in both the private and public sectors. Places are limited, so participation is only possible upon confirmation by the organiser. Financial assistance will be provided to a restricted number of participants to enable them to attend the forum.
