SUMMARY:{:de}3D-Ausstellung „Das neue Bild vom Nachbarn Mars”{:}{:en}3D exhibit "A New Perspective on Mars"{:}
DESCRIPTION:The European Space Agency Mars Express orbiter has been circling Mars for more than 10 years. The HRSC camera operated by DLR on board\, is constantly providing fascinating insights into the geology of our planetary neighbor in high-resolution images. The “A New Perspective on Mars” exhibit showcases the most beautiful pictures. The geological forces that have shaped the Red Planet can be viewed in large format and in 3D with special glasses – including regions where large volumes of water once occupied the surface.

SUMMARY:{:de}Wunder der Natur – die Intelligenz der Schöpfung{:}{:en}Wonders of nature – the intelligence of creation{:}
DESCRIPTION:Animals and plants have made Earth a unique habitat. The “Wonders of nature” exhibit at the Gasometer Oberhausen follows growth and development on our planet\, and celebrates its intelligence and diversity. The highlight of the exhibit is Earth itself. The Blue Planet is brought to life\, glowing in the immense interior of the Gasometer: the absolute star of the tour through “Wonders of nature” is the 20-metre-diameter terrestrial globe hovering in the 100-metre tall space of the Gasometer. The visitor experiences the fascinating phenomena of day/night and changing of the seasons.

SUMMARY:{:de}DLR Conference on Climate Change 2016 – Challenges for Atmospheric Research{:}{:en}DLR Conference on Climate Change 2016 – Challenges for Atmospheric Research{:}
DESCRIPTION:Climate change has become one of the most important issues mankind will have to contend with in forthcoming decades. Though we are basically certain that human activity is causing global warming\, the magnitude of the warming is still quite uncertain. This scientific conference aims to provide a discussion forum for international scientists\, research centers and space agencies together with United Nations entities to investigate the considerable challenges in atmospheric climate research. \nPlease visit www.ccc2016.net for further information. \nContact \nProf. Dr. Robert Sausen\nGerman Aerospace Center (DLR)\nInstitute of Atmospheric Physics\nTel.: +49 8153 28-2500

SUMMARY:{:de}Neues Symposium für smarte Strukturen und Systeme – 4SMARTS{:}{:en}Symposium on smart structures and systems – 4SMARTS{:}
DESCRIPTION:This event focuses on the interdisciplinary field of active\, intelligent and adaptive – smart – structures and systems. The symposium addresses all relevant areas of technology\, starting with the material and design of components\, to the integration of features and the proof of reliability for complex systems. In addition to classic applications in active vibration\, noise and structural control\, the symposium will investigate numerous other applications such as structural health monitoring (SHM) or energy harvesting. The second 4SMARTS has the clear task of building networks in the field of mechatronic and adaptive electronics engineering in order to transfer innovative ideas from research into industrial applications. By doing so\, it will sow the seeds of cooperation and innovation in the area of smart structures and systems. \nContact \nJana Hoidis\nDeutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR)\nFaserverbundleichtbau und Adaptronik\nTel.: +49 531 295-2453\nFax: +49 531 295-2875
