SUMMARY:{:de}Fotoausstellung „Space Girls Space Women“{:}{:en}Photo Exhibition „Space Girls Space Women“{:}
DESCRIPTION:Picture: ESA \n  \nWomen who reach for the stars \nIs it a man’s world in space? No way! The ‘Space Girls Space Women’ photography exhibition\, to be showcased for the first time in Germany from 11 January to 14 October 2018 at Universum® Bremen\, presents 24 very special women from the space industry: girls who have their heads in the stars\, female students who are passionate about space and female experts who are at the heart of the space adventure. Inspired by the international touring exhibition\, Universum® is also showcasing seven portraits of Bremen women who are pursuing their dream career in the space sector. \n‘Space Girls Space Women’ is organised by the international photographic agency\, Sipa Press\, and made possible thanks to the commitment of the European Space Agency (ESA). The French Space Agency\, CNES\, the NEREUS network\, the French theme park\, Cité de l’espace\, and the European Union’s Agency for Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GSA) are also involved in this collaboration. \nDate: The ‘Space Girls Space Women’ photographic exhibition will be on display from 11 January to 14 October 2018 at Universum® Bremen (Wiener Straße 1a\, 28359 Bremen). Entry is included in the standard admission price. \n

DESCRIPTION:+++ PLEASE NOTE: OPENING HOURS ON 27 and 28 SEPTEMBER VARY FROM REGULAR SCHEDULE +++ 27 September: 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. +++ 28 September: 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. +++ \n  \nHayabusa-2 is a Japanese space mission heading to the high-carbon „Ryugu“ asteroid. Germany – in collaboration with France – contributes to this mission with the MASCOT lander and four important scientific experiments which examine chemistry and physics of this asteroid. The mission goal is to gain knowledge about the dawn of the solar system and the formation and development of the planets. MASCOT is to land on Ryugu in October 2018 and to support measurements taken by Hayabusa-2. In 2020\, Hayabusa-2 will return to Earth\, carrying samples from Ryugu. \nThe exhibition „Contact with an asteroid – HAYABUSA2 & MASCOT“ of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) was developed and designed by the DLR institutes and facilities involved in the asteroid lander MASCOT with participation of external mission partners. \nThe exhibition takes place at Untere Rathaushalle (ground level) of Bremen´s town hall. The admission is free of charge. \nStaff from DLR´s Institute of Space Systems in Bremen in charge of the mission will guide through the exhibition on following days: \nTue 10 July 2018 6:00 p.m. \nSat 14 July 2018 11:00 a.m. \nSat 28 July 2018 11:00 a.m. \nSat 11 August 2018 11:00 a.m. \nSat 25 August 2018 11:00 a.m. \nSat 08 September 2018 11:00 a.m. \nSat 22. SUMMARY:{:de}Industrietag Ariane 6{:}{:en}Ariane 6 Industry Day{:}
DESCRIPTION:Strengthening Germany’s position in Europe and worldwide \n  \nEurope’s answer to the growing global competition among leading launchers is Ariane 6. From 2020\, the new and more cost-effective Ariane launcher is expected to safely and successfully carry payloads into space. This goal can only be achieved through new thinking by all parties involved – new roles for industry\, ESA and national agencies\, new processes and new manufacturing methods. Germany has high-performing industries and outstanding research facilities in all the major fields associated with launch systems. The aim of the Ariane 6 Industrial Day is to create a platform for closer exchange and possible synergies in Germany\, thereby sustainably strengthening Germany’s position in the world of launchers. The DLR Space Administration is looking forward to your participation. \n  \nContact: industrietag-a6@dlr.de \n  \nPlease find the full program below as downloadable PDF file. \n

SUMMARY:{:de}Führungen durchs DLR Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme{:}{:en}Guided tours of the DLR Institute of Space Systems{:}
DESCRIPTION:The German Aerospace Center (DLR) is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Visit DLR’s Institute of Space Systems in Bremen\, one of 20 DLR sites across Germany. \nThe Institute of Space Systems\, based in Bremen since 2007\, designs and analyses future spacecraft and space missions and assesses their technical performance and cost. This includes launchers\, orbital and exploration systems and satellites. The Institute also develops\, builds and operates its own spacecraft and missions for scientific investigations and technology demonstrations. In order to facilitate future space missions and improve the performance of existing technologies\, the Institute researches system-relevant technologies. \nTake a look behind the scenes of DLR \nLearn all about the Institute and its current projects during a guided tour of the laboratory building: why do we want to grow tomatoes on the Moon and Mars? How does a lander land on an asteroid and how do we monitor ships from space?\nCurrent projects set out to answer these questions. Visitors also have the opportunity to view a selection of laboratories and test facilities: the integration hall\, where satellites are assembled\, the Landing and Mobility Test Facility (LAMA)\, where the famous Philae lander was tested\, and the Cryo-Lab\, where scientific and technical issues of cryogenic fuel handling are investigated. Immerse yourself in the world of space research and see how Bremen contributes to this. \nDates\n26.01 = German + English\n23.02 = German + Spanish\n27.04 = German (fully booked) + English\n25.05 = German (fully booked) + Spanish\n29.06 = German (fully booked)\n27.07 = German (fully booked)\n31.08 = German (fully booked)\n28.09 = German (fully booked) + English\nAll at 15:00 \nAdmission is free of charge \nMeeting point:\nRobert-Hooke-Straße 7 \nRegistration is required for DLR guided tours and begins on 11 January 2018.
