SUMMARY:{:de}Ausstellung "Aufbruch ins All – Raumfahrt erleben"{:}{:en}Exhibition "Aufbruch ins All – Raumfahrt erleben"{:}
DESCRIPTION:Picture: Vadim Sadovski \n  \nFifty years after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the Moon\, a major exhibition at the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (HNF) in Paderborn will chart the conquest of space. Running from 5 July 2019 to 19 April 2020\, the exhibition titled “Aufbruch ins All” (“Breakup into Space”) will whisk visitors away on an adventurous journey through time and space. Spread over 800 square metres\, the exhibition is set against an awe-inspiring backdrop of darkness\, planets and space vehicles. In addition to historical and technological exhibits such as robots\, propulsion systems and control modules\, models of rockets or the International Space Station (ISS) will illustrate how humankind has ventured forth into the Universe. \nVisitors will be able to take a seat in a replica of the Apollo 17 lunar module to enjoy a virtual drive across the Moon. A virtual reality tour will let them explore the ISS and conduct a docking manoeuvre lying down in a reconstructed Soyuz capsule. They will also have the chance to take a selfie as astronauts and to discover the layers of a spacesuit using an augmented reality application. Many of the interactive exhibits have been specially created and provide a unique experience of space. There will be a Lunar Lander Land playground for children\, where they will be able to weigh planets\, leave their footprint in ‘lunar dust’ and clamber through a moon landing craft. \nThis exhibition was designed by HNF in cooperation with the DLR Space Administration. Admission to the exhibition will cost €5.00\, with reduced tickets available for €3.00. A family ticket will cost €10.00 and will include access to the permanent exhibition. Guided tours will be organised for groups and there will be a series of talks catering to aerospace and astronomy enthusiasts.

SUMMARY:WerkstoffPlus Auto - 10.

SUMMARY:E2FLIGHT Conference 2020
DESCRIPTION:Aerial view of Downtown Los Angeles during a hazy sunset with the buildings of DTLA in the distance. \nConquering the sky through e-mobility and zero emissions – this is the vision of aeronautics research at German Aerospace Center.\n\n\nRadical improvements have to be made to realize the vision of carbon free aircraft technology and electric flights\, as well as Concept studies for the construction of airplanes\, energy systems and combustion engines\, aspects of certifications and systems integration: E²Flight® conference covers all these aspects on the way to clean global aviation. \nSince 2015 we support this idea by holding the E²Flight® conference in Stuttgart. Particularly contributions made by speakers from industry and scientists of various disciplines\, encourage the exchange of knowledge and views. \nEngineers\, researchers from universities as well as research centers\, research groups and ministries with a connection or interest in electric powered aircraft are the target audience of the symposium. \n\n\n\n\n\nFOCUS\nFocus of the two-day conference is an overall concept for electric flight with following issues: \n\n• Energy and systems\n• Batteries\, fuel cells\, refueling\, charging\, and required infrastructure\n• Hybrid electric systems including internal combustion engines and generators\n• Inverters\, energy transfer\, and electric motors\n• Aspects of certification\n• Aircraft projects and system integration\n\n\nConference language will be English.\n\nSign up now!

SUMMARY:{:de}ISTAR Rollout{:}{:en}ISTAR roll-out{:}
DESCRIPTION:The latest addition to the DLR research fleet is set to mark a new chapter in research into the future of aviation. \nWith ‘ISTAR’ (In-flight Systems and Technology Airborne Research)\, a Falcon 2000LX aviation research now has an aircraft that offers many more possibilities for flight simulation than previous research aircraft. Thanks to its modern equipment\, design and additional technical systems\, ISTAR is poised to make significant contributions towards digitalisation in aviation.
