SUMMARY:GLOBAL VIRTUAL WORKSHOP II - Space Traffic Management and Resilient Space Environment
DESCRIPTION:The SECOND GLOBAL VIRTUAL WORKSHOP (GVW-II) of the Stardust-R network\nis organised by German Aerospace Center (DLR)\, German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and the University of Strathclyde. \nThis workshop will be the second international event of the Stardust-R network and\nthe technical programme will cover the area of “Space Traffic Management and the Resilient Space Environment”. \nDue to the Covid-19 pandemic\, the event is planned to be held entirely online. \n  \nTOPIC HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE\n\nspace situational awareness\,\nspace environment modelling and risk analysis\,\nspace debris detection and characterization\,\nspace debris mitigation strategies\,\non-orbit servicing and on-orbit assembly of large structures\nactive debris removal\,\nguidance\, navigation and control\,\non-board autonomy\,\nmission operations and communication\,\nfuture missions\,\nlarge constellations and future trends in the context of space debris and space traffic management.\n\nAbout Stardust-R Network\nFind Information: http://www.stardust-network.eu/

SUMMARY:{:de}6th International Online Summer School on Aerogels (IOSSA){:}{:en}6th International Online Summer School on Aerogels (IOSSA){:}
DESCRIPTION:The department of Aerogels and Aerogel Composites of the Institute of Materials Research at the German Aerospace Center is organizing the online workshop 6th International Online Summer School on Aerogels in Cologne\, Germany\, on September 16th\, 2021. \nAerogels are nano-structured open porous materials synthesized via a sol-gel process from organic or inorganic precursors. They most often combine such extraordinary properties as high porosity (up to 99.9%)\, ultralow density (50-200 kg/m3)\, high surface area (up to 2000 m2/g) and a very low thermal conductivity (0.005-0.020 W/mK). With these unique properties\, they are predestined for a broad range of applications including thermal and acoustic insulation\, light weight construction\, supercapacitors\, batteries or catalyst materials.\nWithin this online workshop\, students\, PhD students\, postdocs as well as experienced scientists from research and industry are invited to get introduced to the fascinating properties of different types of aerogels and will get the opportunity to get in deeper discussion with the experts on this field. \nThe department of Aerogels and Aerogel Composites at the German Aerospace Center is cooperatively organizing this online workshop with the University of Cologne (UzK)\, the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH)\, the Paris-Lodron University of Salzburg\, the Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research in Würzburg (ZAE) and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA) in Dübendorf\, Switzerland. \nFor more information please visit https://dlr.expert/iossa or send an e-mail to Aerogels@dlr.de.
