SUMMARY:Bundesgartenschau (BUGA) 2023
DESCRIPTION:The German national garden show 2023 (short BUGA for “Bundesgartenschau”) in Mannheim will take place over 178 days from 14 April to 8 October 2023. For this purpose two areas Luisenpark and Spinelli Park\, will be developed on a total of 104 ha and connected with a cable car. \nAs a first use case for an automated ride operation\, the use of the prototype U-Shift is planned at BUGA23 in the experimental field. Approximately 2 million visitors are expected\, representing an operational scenario similar to a pedestrian zone due to the many contact points. \nIn order to demonstrate the U-Shift\, to give potential visitors the opportunity to exchange ideas with the scientists and to inform themselves about the prototypes\, a DLR pavilion will be the hub for DLR at the BUGA\, to which the experimental field is connected.

SUMMARY:Paris Air Show 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Paris Air Show\, which takes place every two years at Le Bourget Airport\, is the world’s largest event in the industry\, according to the organisers. After a temporary hiatus\, the 54th edition will be held from 19 to 25 June 2023. The first four show days are reserved for trade visitors\, followed by three public days. In 2019\, more than 2450 exhibitors from 49 countries showcased their work at Le Bourget. Altogether 316\,000 visitors were registered\, including almost 140\,000 trade visitors and more than 300 official delegations from 98 countries. In addition to services and products for civilian and military aviation\, the Spacecraft\, Satellites and Telecommunications sector will also be well represented in Paris. \nDetailed information on the DLR stand can be found on the DLR special page.

SUMMARY:EMEA 2023: Workshop on Ion Exchange Membranes for Energy Applications
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to EMEA2023: Workshop on Ion Exchange Membranes for Energy Applications\nJune 20th – 22nd\, 2023 in Bad Zwischenahn/Germany \nAfter a two-year break the EMEA Workshop finally took place on-site again in June 2022. 77 participants from 17 nations had the opportunity to experience many interesting talks and poster presentations. \nMaterial developments and ion exchange membrane-based systems for energy applications will be discussed by representatives from research and industry with the focus set on anion exchange membranes. In addition to invited and contributed talks a poster exhibition offers scientists and especially young researchers and students the opportunity to present their work. A price for the best poster will be awarded.
