SUMMARY:{:de}DLR-Standorttag Bonn{:}{:en}DLR Bonn open day{:}
DESCRIPTION:DLR Bonn open day \nVisitors to DLR Bonn’s open day can discover the research\, training and innovation management for which the site is known on 17 September 2017. The day promises to showcase the site’s capabilities beyond “just” high-level research. \nThe DLR Project Management Agency\, the Space Administration and the Project Management Agency for Aeronautics Research will showcase how\, through good management\, they encourage a knowledge-based society and social developments for their clients. The three institutions are deliberately headquartered in Bonn\, the international science city. About 1000 DLR employees work in the field of science management and research support\, helping their clients – e.g.\, the federal government\, state governments\, charities – to carry out their activities.\nIn addition to numerous stalls with exhibits\, ‘hands-on research’\, games and interactive activities\, the DLR Bonn open day will also feature exciting events on stage\, such as a discussion with politicians devoted to the topic of ‘Prospects for Bonn: What will future research\, innovation and education look like?’ Two live bands will provide musical entertainment. The researchers of tomorrow will be able to enjoy face painting and a bouncy castle.Visitors will have the opportunity to walk on a giant game board and discover the steps involved in making new medication\, use a welding machine\, explore the seas and oceans in the Blue Quiz\, participate in a competition for sustainable land management\, see impressive aviation and space models up close\, experience a virtual world that can only be won through teamwork\, and learn how to get involved in protecting the environment and nature. Spin-offs from space\, planetary research innovations\, first-hand information on the International Space Station and sustainable aviation are also included in the programme\, as are experiments in the DLR_School_Lab. Those who want to learn more can watch short films in the ‘cinema’. To top this off\, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about DLR as an employer. \nEntrance with backpacks\nWe ask you to avoid bringing heavy bags and backpacks.\nRandom bag checks will be carried out by our security personnel at the entrance as well as during the event\,. \nFood and drink\nFood and drink is available on site. \nBringing animals to the site\nDuring the site open day\, dogs will generally not be permitted on the site. We therefore ask you to please leave your pets at home. \nHow to arrive \nOn foot\nFrom the Ramersdorf stop:
Pass the parking lot\, continue until the corner of Oberkasseler Strasse/Königswinterer Strasse. From here\, turn left into the Königswinterer Strasse in the direction of ‘Oberkassel’ and proceed approx. 200 metres following the first street on your right into Heinrich-Konen Strasse. Our office building is located on the left (approximately five minute walk).
From the Oberkassel station:
Go along Kahlkuhlstrasse until Königswinterer Strasse\, then turn left\, continue along Königswinterer Strasse for approx. 500 metres\, then left into Heinrich-Konen Strasse\, it is the first building on the left hand side here. \nBy car\nA 59 or B 42 until reaching the ‘Bonn-Ost’ motorway junction. Here take the A 562 in the direction of ‘Bad Godesberg’.
After 300 metres\, take the first exit to ‘Bonn-Oberkassel’ and at the exit\, turn left in the left in the direction of ‘Oberkassel’.
After approx. 800 metres\, take the roundabout in the left lane in the direction of Oberkassel (‘Königswinterer Strasse’)\, then after a further 200 metres\, take the first street on the right\, ‘Heinrich-Konen Strasse’. The three-storey office building on the left hand side is Heinrich-Konen Strasse 5 (1 km from the ‘Bonn-Oberkassel’ exit).
On the day of the event\, limited parking spaces will be available in the parking garage in Karl Duwe Strasse. Please also use the parking spaces in the immediate vicinity.
