SUMMARY:2nd International Electric Vehicle Conference (EVC)
DESCRIPTION:Building upon the resounding success of its inaugural edition\, this biannual international academic conference stands as a beacon for collaboration and innovation in the realm of electric mobility. This conference aims to bring together academics and industry partners in a collaborative pursuit of advancing electric mobility on a global scale. \nFollowing the resounding success of the inaugural conference organised by the Transport Research Institute (TRI) of Edinburgh Napier University in June 2023\, held in the historic city of Edinburgh\, Scotland\, the 2nd International Electric Vehicle Conference builds upon this momentum\, elevating the discourse and innovation surrounding electric vehicles to new heights. \nThe roots of these international academic conferences trace back to the pioneering efforts of the TRI\, which initiated annual electric vehicle events in 2015\, setting the stage for meaningful discussions on the current challenges and developments in electromobility. Through these gatherings\, the TRI established a forum where experts from diverse backgrounds could converge\, exchange insights\, and shape the future of sustainable transportation. \nAt the heart of the 2nd International Electric Vehicle Conference lies a steadfast commitment to equality\, diversity\, and inclusion. We recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive environment that welcomes and celebrates individuals from all walks of life. As such\, we wholeheartedly encourage the participation of researchers from under-represented groups\, acknowledging the invaluable perspectives they bring to the forefront of electric vehicle research and development. \nJoin us in Stuttgart as we continue this journey towards a cleaner\, greener future powered by electric mobility. Together\, let us propel innovation\, spark meaningful dialogue\, and pave the way for a more sustainable transportation landscape.

SUMMARY:DLR EEE Components Conference 2025
DESCRIPTION:EEE-Components include active and passive electronic\, electrical and electromechanical components that are so-called mission enablers\, i.e. they make space missions possible in the first place. The use of such components in the space sector requires special properties in terms of performance as well as resistance to radiation\, vibration and temperature. \nFor over 20 years\, the DLR EEE-Components Conference serves as an important platform for the exchange and networking of stakeholders in Germany in the field of EEE-Components. The EEE-Components Division of the German Space Agency at DLR (Space Agency) organizes the annual EEE-Components conference for manufacturers and users of EEE-components (i.e. equipment manufacturers) as well as other companies involved in the supply chain\, such as test houses. Around 120 to 150 participants from over 50 companies\, research institutes and universities attend this unique national EEE-Components conference in the space sector to discuss the following topics: \n\nDemand and availability of EEE-Components for the space industry;\nNew technologies for future applications;\nStatus of the national technology development and qualification programme;\nNational funding opportunities;\nNews about ESCC (European Space Components Coordination) and ECSS (European Cooperation for Space Standardisation);\nStatus at European and international level with contributions from ESA and the European Commission;\nCross-industry exchange;\nGerman-Japanese cooperation in the field of EEE-Components.\n\nAs part of the German-Japanese cooperation signed by the German Space Agency at DLR and JAXA\, the first bi-national DLR EEE-Component Conference will take place on 20 and 21 May 2025 in Bremen\, Germany\, with the participation and organizational support of JAXA and guests of honor from Japan. The aim of the German-Japanese cooperation is to establish the use of automotive EEE-components in space applications. \nGerman and Japanese companies\, research organizations and universities are invited to participate as speakers or exhibitors. The conference language will be English/Japanese\, accompanied by simultaneous translation in both directions. \nParticipation is free of charge. The number of participants is limited. We must therefore reserve the right to make a final selection.

SUMMARY:Pint Of Science
DESCRIPTION:Pint of Science is an annual science festival that aims to inform the public about current scientific developments by having scientists talk about their research and findings in pubs\, cafés and other public places.\nIn Ulm\, the theme on 20 May 2025 will be: “Full of energy! Stories of jellyfish\, AIs and consumption”\nIt’s going to be exciting! In three presentations\, we will take a look at the hunger for energy in nature and technology: We will start with the fascinating world of proteins that come from jellyfish. Using 3D models\, we will show how these small molecules are revolutionising science. We will then take a critical look at the concept of the “energy slave”. Finally\, we will delve into the world of artificial intelligence\, scrutinise its enormous energy requirements and discuss whether AI can work more efficiently. Come along\, have a drink and be fascinated! \n>
