The FOREST payload by OroraTech is a multipurpose thermal-infrared sensing camera with attached artificial intelligence processing unit capable of being housed on a shoebox sized nanosatellite (6U). It will improve real-time response on heat events and continuous coverage of high-resolution thermal infrared data globally. The first of its kind satellite was launched in January 2022, and already successfully detected wildfires from space.
