Thematic sessions for both missions will be held from Monday afternoon until Thursday afternoon (Oct 20). \nThe main goal of the meeting is the presentation and discussion of scientific results\, exchange of experience gained so far as well as to provide the latest information about the status of both missions. DESCRIPTION:From the perspective of sharing lessons learned and best practices in the area of risk management\, the Network of Enterprise Risk Management practitioners (ERMINe)\, is pleased to announce its International Forum. The German Aerospace Centre (DLR)\, located next to the Cologne-Bonn airport\, will host this workshop. \nThe main objectives of this International Enterprise Risk Management Working Group are:\n• To provide a cooperative forum for discussions among public and private organizations\n• To provide peer assistance to solve members’ ERM issues\n• To exchange ideas\, methods\, and experiences to enhance the ERM profession\n• To promote ERM research. \nUnder this initiative\, three forums already took place in 2012\, 2013\, and 2015 with about 50 participants from 30 organizations attending each event. The forum in general is composed of plenary and break-out sessions. On the final workshop day\, the visit of some DLR facilities and the ESA Astronaut centre is foreseen in the afternoon.

DESCRIPTION:We are happy to announce this year’s 7th International Symposium on Composites Manufacturing (ISCM) to be held in Braunschweig\, Germany on 24th and 25th August 2016.  \nAt the ISCM\, recent developments in composites manufacturing for aerospace and related applications are presented and discussed among experts in their field. Presentations at ISCM involve analysis of emerging issues\, the state of the art in composites manufacturing and discussion on those developments that will shape the near future of composites development. \nThe ISCM is a biennial event organised by the Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory NLR and the German Aerospace Center DLR. This year the symposium will be hosted by DLR. SUMMARY:{:de}KOMETEN – die Mission Rosetta: eine Reise zu den Ursprüngen des Sonnensystems{:}{:en}COMETS – Mission Rosetta: Journey to the Origins of the Solar System{:}
DESCRIPTION:They come from the outer reaches of the Solar System\, from regions far beyond the planets. Comets are unusual\, spectacular and still relatively unexplored. They are dark bodies composed of dust and ice – as old as the Solar System itself. Will they reveal the key to the early history of Earth? Did the oceans’ waters arrive as cometary ice? Were hydrocarbon molecules from comets the fundamental building blocks of life on Earth? \nThese are the questions that are being investigated by the European Rosetta mission. After travelling for 10 years\, the Rosetta spacecraft reached comet 67P/Churyumov Gerasimenko. At the end of 2014\, a small lander\, Philae\, separated from Rosetta and touched down on 67P – a scientific adventure\, and a fascinating project for space exploration. The German Aerospace Center (DLR)\, together with the Museum für Naturkunde (The Museum of Natural History) and the Max Planck Society\, will take you to the origins of the Solar System.
