DESCRIPTION:Dear colleagues\, dear interested parties\, \nThe 6th Sustainability Summit will take place at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen from 17 to 18 November 2025.\nOur central theme for 2025 has been decided: \nSustainability and digitalisation – the\nthe twin transition in research organisations \nDigitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) are playing an increasingly important role in our professional and everyday lives. Both offer enormous potential for becoming more sustainable\, but also harbour risks for people and the environment that need to be carefully considered. At the Helmholtz Sustainability Summit\, we will focus on these interactions between sustainability\, digitalisation and AI: How should digitalisation be designed so that it has a sustainable impact on people and the environment? How can AI be trained to offer sustainable solutions? Which concepts and tools could help research institutions to achieve sustainability goals? \nThe Helmholtz Sustainability Summit is a source of inspiration and a meeting place that promotes personal exchange between interested parties and those responsible\, regardless of their professional or institutional affiliation. DESCRIPTION:On 21 July 2019 the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen will open its doors and welcome everyone with a thirst for knowledge. In addition to numerous fascinating presentations\, guided tours and demonstrations at the Institutes\, there will also be a varied programme of supporting events for guests. Presentations and talks will not only encompass memories of the first manned landing on the Moon 50 years ago\, but also look to the future. In addition\, a diverse space show presented by the DLR_School_Lab on the programme stage will explain to visitors in an entertaining yet informative way how\, for example\, microgravity works. \nIf the weather is favourable\, the flying sports group will offer sightseeing flights in gliders and powered aircraft giving visitors the opportunity to view events from above. Young researchers can test their knowledge during the Open Day with the children’s quiz. In addition to this\, there will also be a painting and crafts corner\, as well as other great items including the voluntary fire brigade and the Bavarian Red Cross. DLR’s cafeteria and numerous food stands will provide refreshments with a variety of meals and beverages. There will also be live music from two bands and a DJ. The DLR recruiting team provides you with information about entry opportunities at its career stand. \n  \nAdmission and Opening Times: \n\nAdmission is free of charge.\nEvent time: 10:00 – 17:00\nPlease note that the last admission is at 16:00!\n\nPlease pay attention to our event guidelines: \n\nDuring the event\, photography and/or filming will be taking place\, which may be used for the purposes of reporting and general publicity in various media. On entering the premises\, you consent to the possibility that you may appear in photographs or videos.\nPlease do not bring heavy luggage and rucksacks. During the event\, our security personnel will be carrying out random inspections. Thank you for your understanding.\nAnimals are not permitted at the venue.\nInstructions given on notices and signs must be observed.\nSmoking is prohibited inside the building. Outside the building\, smoking is only permitted in the designated areas.\nBicycles\, scooters\, skateboards and similar items are not permitted on the site.\n\nGetting here: \n\nPlease use public transport if possible – the timetable for the S-Bahn train line S8 can be found on the Munich Transport Corporation (MVG) website. There are three shuttle buses from the S-Bahn stations Neugilching and Weßling\, which provide a regular shuttle service between the train stations and DLR.\nFor visitors arriving by bicycle\, parking facilities are available in front of the entrance.\nPlease note that there are only a limited number of car parking spaces available outside the site. DESCRIPTION:On 27 June 2019\, DLR’s Technology Marketing department is organising the second DLR Business Lounge. \nThe Business Lounge is the DLR networking meeting for all former\, current and future DLR spin-offs. Here\, you have the opportunity to get in touch with relevant stakeholders\, gain an insight into spin-off activities at DLR and exchange ideas within  DLR’s internal start-up network. \nThe networking meeting will be accompanied by talks on spin-off relevant topics\, followed by a discussion. Different DLR spin-offs and start-up projects will also be presented. \nThe subject of this year’s Business Lounge is internationalisation. What opportunities and risks arise as a result of the development of new markets? When does it make sense to take the next step? \nTechnology Marketing has gotten two experts to speak about this topic: \nIn her talk\, Andrea Diewald from the German American Chamber of Commerce will discuss which factors are particularly important to enter the US market. She has many years of experience in supporting German spin-offs in entering the US market. \nIn his talk\, Wolfram Peschko\, Chairman of Mynaric AG\, will discuss his own experiences as an entrepreneur. In 2011\, he joined Mynaric AG (then called ViaLight Communication GmbH)\, a DLR spin-off from the Institute for Communications and Navigation\, which has since been successfully listed on the stock exchange and become internationally active. \nIf you are interested in participating\, please contact DLR’s Technology Marketing department.
