DESCRIPTION:Bild: ESA \nFrauen\, die nach den Sternen greifen \nRaumfahrt ist Männersache? Von wegen! In der Fotoausstellung „Space Girls Space Women“\, die vom 11. Januar bis zum 14. Oktober 2018 im Universum® Bremen und damit erstmalig in Deutschland zu sehen ist\, werden 24 besondere Frauen aus der Luft- und Raumfahrtbranche vorgestellt: Mädchen\, die mit ihren Gedanken im All sind\, Studentinnen\, die sich für unbekannte Welten begeistern\, Expertinnen\, die im Zentrum des Abenteuers Weltraum stehen. Inspiriert von der internationalen Wanderausstellung\, zeigt das Universum® zusätzlich sieben weitere Porträts von Bremer Frauen\, die ebenfalls ihrem Traumberuf in der Raumfahrt nachgehen. \n„Space Girls Space Women“ wurde von der internationalen Fotoagentur Sipa Press realisiert und durch das Engagement der Europäischen Weltraumorganisation ESA ermöglicht. Die französische Raumfahrtagentur CNES\, das NEREUS-Netzwerk\, der französische Themen- und Erlebnispark Cité de l’espace und die Agentur der Europäischen Union für das globale Navigationssatellitensystem (GSA) beteiligten sich ebenfalls an der Kooperation. \nTermin: Die Fotoausstellung „Space Girls Space Women“ wird vom 11. Januar bis zum 14. Oktober 2018 im Universum® Bremen (Wiener Straße 1a\, 28359 Bremen) gezeigt. Der Besuch ist im regulären Eintrittspreis enthalten.

DESCRIPTION:We kindly invite you to the \nDLR Conference on Climate Change 2018 –\nAtmospheric Research for Understanding and Mitigating Climate Change \nin collaboration with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) \nUnderstanding how variations in the Earth’s climate come about has become one of the most important issues mankind will have to deal with in forthcoming decades. Though it is extremely likely that human activity is one of the causes of global warming\, the scale of the warming and the associated changes in the probability distribution of many climate variables are still virtually undefined. It is therefore crucial that these issues are more thoroughly analyzed to help combat the negative effects that changes in climatic processes have on our planet. \nThe aim of the Paris Agreement is to reinforce the global response to the threats arising from climatic change by\, for example\, imposing a global temperature rise within this century well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. The agreement underlines the necessity to study ways of reducing the consequences of climate change. \nThis scientific conference aims to bring international scientists\, space agencies and interested parties together with United Nations entities such as UNOOSA\, UNSPIDER\, UNFCCC\, WMO and GCOS and thus provide a discussion forum to elaborate on the substantial challenges faced in atmospheric climate research. By encouraging an open exchange of ideas we hope to facilitate the implementation of suitable measures to support the requirements as outlined in Paris. \nPlease visit www.dlr.de/ccc2018 for more information and online registration.
