SUMMARY:71st International Astronautical Congress (IAC) - The CyberSpace Edition
DESCRIPTION:Since its first edition in 1950\, the IAC has been THE place for all space people to come together and discuss about the latest developments in space. In these challenging times\, when physical meetings are near-impossible\, the Federation\, more than ever\, is determined to play its unifying role for the space community. And this is why we have decided to organize the 71st International Astronautical Congress\, IAC 2020\, as a Cyberspace Edition and to offer it without registration fee\, free of charge for a global community. This will allow us to also reach out to new communities and stakeholders that would normally not have the means and/or time to physically travel to an IAC. \nThe theme of the IAC 2020 – The CyberSpace Edition will indeed be about the IAF Motto: “IAF Connecting @ll Space People”. The IAF has understood that all the measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic that rely on social distancing and social isolation are placing a huge strain on communities. As the world is grappling with this massive challenge\, the role of the Federation in the space community has become of paramount importance in connecting people back together. Virtually and for free\, we will embrace resilience by being connected together. \nVisit the DLR booth

SUMMARY:SUMO 2020 - From Traffic Flow to Mobility Modeling
DESCRIPTION:The conference is postponed from May 2020 to October 26th – 28th\, 2020\nand takes place online!\nThe participation is free of charge \nIntroduction\nTraffic simulations are of immense importance for researchers as well as practitioners in the field of transportation. SUMO has been available since 2001 and provides a wide range of traffic planning and simulation applications. SUMO consists of a suite of tools covering road network imports and enrichment\, demand generation and assignment\, and a state-of-the-art microscopic traffic simulator capable of simulating private and public transport modes\, as well as person-based trip chains. Being open source\, SUMO is easily extensible by new behavioral models and can be dynamically controlled via a well-defined programming interface. These and other features make SUMO one of the most often used open source traffic simulators with a large and international user community. \nCall for Papers\nThe conference focuses on presenting new and unique results in the field of mobility simulation and modeling using openly available tools and data. We expect a large variety of research topics and usage approaches. If you are working on a research project fitting the topics below\, you are kindly invited to submit an abstract. Possible areas of interest include (but are not limited to): \n• Mobility and Demand Modelling\n• Traffic Simulation\n• Open Tools and Open Data\n• Modelling Urban Mobility\n• Traffic Applications\n• Traffic Management Solutions\n• Intermodal Transport\n• Autonomous Driving\n• Logistics Simulation\n• Vehicular Communication\n• E-Mobility \nLanguage\n The conference language is English. \nKeynote Speaker: Keynote Jordi Casas (AIMSUN) \nVenue\nThe conference takes place online \nContact:  sumo-conference@dlr.de
