SUMMARY:The 5th International Conference on Transport\, Atmosphere and Climate (TAC-5)
DESCRIPTION:The 5th International Conference on Transport\, Atmosphere and Climate (TAC-5) will take place in Bad Aibling\, Southern Germany\, from 27 June to 30 June 2022. The conference is planned as an on-site event in the Conference Hotel St Georg. \nThe TAC conference provides a platform for an international information exchange and a discussion forum on state-of-the-art knowledge of the impact of transport on the atmosphere and on climate. \nPapers on the following topics are welcome: \nVehicle emissions from engine and other sources (gaseous and particulate)\,\nEmission scenarios and emission data bases for transport\,\nNear-field and plume processes\, effective emissions\,\nTransport impact on the chemical composition of the atmosphere\,\nTransport impact on aerosols\,\nContrails\, contrail cirrus\, ship tracks\,\nIndirect cloud effects (e.g.\, aerosol-cloud interaction)\,\nRadiative forcing of transport\,\nTransport impact on climate\,\nMetrics for measuring climate change and damage\,\nMitigation of transport impacts by technological changes in vehicles and engines (e.g.\, low-NOx engines\, alternative fuels\, adapted vehicles/aircraft)\,\nMitigation of transport impacts by operational means (e.g.\, air traffic management\, environmental friendly flights and ship routing). \nObservational\, experimental\, remote sensing and modelling studies are encouraged. \nThe series of TAC conferences continue and broaden the scope of the initial AAC conference Aviation\, Atmosphere\, and Climate which took place in 2003. The first TAC conference was successfully held in Oxford 2006\, followed by conferences in Aachen/Maastricht 2009\, in Prien/Chiemsee 2012 and in Bad Kohlgrub 2015. \nScientists\, researchers\, and engineers from all over the world are invited to participate in this international conference. The TAC-5 conference will include both oral and poster presentations\, covering all aspects of the impact of the different modes of transport (aviation\, road transport\, shipping etc.) on atmospheric chemistry\, micro-physics\, radiation and climate. \nAbstract submission will open on 12 January 2022 and the registration on 15 February 2022. \nWe are concerned about the health and safety of all of our staff and attendees and are closely monitoring the COVID situation.\nAll information about the hygiene and safety measures can be found on this website. \nWe look forward to welcoming you at TAC-5 in June 2022!
