PublicHydrogen became an important fuel in European aerospace with the development of the Ariane 5 launcher. Since then, the DLR Institute of Space Propulsion has been among the most frequent users in Europe, performing engine tests to acquire extensive expertise in the management of liquid hydrogen in large quantities. Under the patronage of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, Climate Change and the Energy Sector, the Technology Transfer Center (TTZ) Lampoldshausen organises an annual Hydrogen Day where scientists and representatives of the automotive, energy, hydrogen and project management industries join with delegates from higher learning institutes throughout Germany to discuss current developments and trends in the area of hydrogen.
Now in its 5th year, this Hydrogen Day will focus on the function and conditions for manufacturing, using and storing hydrogen in regard to the German Federal Government’s ‘2-degree target’, as well as on safety aspects.
