Uni on a Saturday: Homo digitalis – A brief glimpse into a digitalised world

From virtual development and automated production technology to networked research across disciplines and continents – as a pioneer of the digitalisation megatrend, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) is researching technologies that will fundamentally change the aerospace industry. At the same time, digital networking is bringing new opportunities to shape future technologies, generate added value in Germany and thus strengthen Germany’s position in the long term.

The megatrend of digitalisation is influencing society as a whole, whether in technical spheres, in terms of training and qualifications or in everyday life. New jobs are emerging in robotics, software and hardware development. Digitalisation has also produced completely new areas. To make the most of these opportunities, it is essential to provide people with continuous training.
