20. May 2025 @ 19:00 - 22:00
Public | 2,50EuroPint of Science is an annual science festival that aims to inform the public about current scientific developments by having scientists talk about their research and findings in pubs, cafés and other public places.
In Ulm, the theme on 20 May 2025 will be: “Full of energy! Stories of jellyfish, AIs and consumption”
It’s going to be exciting! In three presentations, we will take a look at the hunger for energy in nature and technology: We will start with the fascinating world of proteins that come from jellyfish. Using 3D models, we will show how these small molecules are revolutionising science. We will then take a critical look at the concept of the “energy slave”. Finally, we will delve into the world of artificial intelligence, scrutinise its enormous energy requirements and discuss whether AI can work more efficiently. Come along, have a drink and be fascinated!
