During the Hanover Trade Fair, Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, Member of the Management Board of Deutsche Bahn (DB), and Karsten Lemmer, Member of the Executive Board of the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR), will be signing a groundbreaking framework agreement at the DLR stand to foster innovation in rail operations. The cooperation will focus on key areas such as data analysis, artificial intelligence, quantum computing and cybersecurity as well as the implementation of digital twins. By establishing a simulation laboratory for retrofitting the European Train Control System (ETCS) and integrating sustainable solutions into the transport system, both partners are striving for more efficient and environment-friendly railway technologies.
