Empower the new era of mobility
Autonomous mobility should be as simple, open and accessible as possible. Digitalisation, data and shared data ecosystems form the foundation for making new on-demand services – and, in the future, highly automated traffic (Level 4) – a reality. This applies to cities, their surrounding suburbs and rural areas. This is precisely where the Ecosystem Mobility 4.0 initiative comes in, with industry, researchers and public agencies working together to conceptualise, develop and implement technical blueprints, reference architectures, and uniform and accepted standards and rules. Our goal is to create the digital ‘starter pack’ for autonomous, personalised public transport that’s independent, open and usable for all. In the ‘Ecosystem Mobility 4.0 – BuildUp’ project, we are playing a leading role in establishing an organisational framework in the form of an Ecosystem Mobility 4.0 association.
The centrepiece of our exhibit is the interactive ‘Build Your Own Ecosystem’ demonstrator. Visitors can choose from 18 themed elements or fields of action – including security architecture, fleet management, digital infrastructure or user integration – and select those relevant to their own mobility scenario. On a graphically designed tabletop, these modules are positioned along defined lines and combined into a customised ecosystem.
The demonstrator illustrates how the various fields of action interact and why collaboration, industry standards and an active community are crucial. Visitors can experience firsthand how individual digital building blocks come together to form an end-to-end mobility system that’s fit for the future.
