EC 135 FHS helicopter simulator

Take off with the DLR_School_Lab Braunschweig helicopter simulator!

Take off with the DLR_School_Lab Braunschweig! This simulator of the DLR research helicopter EC 135 FHS was developed for the school laboratory with considerable support from the DLR Institute of Flight Guidance. The aim: in future, pupils will not only be able to experimentally understand how a helicopter works through measurements on the existing ‘rotor test rig’ experiment, but will also be able to try out the control elements of a helicopter in practice. They will be able to directly feel when they forget to equalise the torque of the rotor by pressing the pedals in the cockpit and the helicopter begins to rotate around its vertical axis. Furthermore, the children also learn how flight manoeuvres, such as flying forwards and backwards, are initiated by tilting the crotor disc. Physics thus becomes a true AIR experience!
