miniSLR®

miniSLR® stands for miniature Satellite Laser Ranging and is a compact system used to determine the range of satellites.

miniSLR® is a compact and cost-effective laser ranging ground station for measuring satellite distances with millimetre precision. The measurement data can be used for numerous applications in geodesy, Earth observation, satellite operation or for monitoring satellites, including those that are no longer operational.

The miniSLR® can be used to support collision avoidance (known as Space Situational Awareness, or SSA for short). The compact design makes miniSLR® lightweight, transportable and ideal for remote operation – even at very remote observation sites. The encapsulated and climatised station only requires three-phase current and an internet connection.

The aim is to expand the global coverage of stations and to relieve and supplement the existing laser ranging network.
