End-to-end digital continuity in flight testing: from sensor to report

At the heart of this exhibit the twinstash software (Digital Twins Storage and Application Service Hub).

An aircraft model equipped with sensors demonstrates how complex measurement data can be transformed into clear, immediately usable information and insights within a very short time.

When the model is moved, measurement data is generated just as in a real flight test. This data is transmitted to twinstash via the FTI Hub.

This is where twinstash comes into its own: it organises the data, stores it in a structured manner, links it with contextual information – such as other aircraft – and displays it in real time. At the same time, a report containing the key results, including test points, visualisations and weather data, is generated automatically. This report creates a digital record of the flight test, making it ready for evaluation.

Visitors can experience the end-to-end digital flight testing process with twinstash live, gaining an understanding of how software can make complex flight tests manageable. Visitors can also get a glimpse into the automated structuring, analysis and visualisation of data, as well as an insight into the path measurement data takes from sensor to finished report.

twinstash offers more than just data storage. It creates a continuous digital chain from data acquisition and intelligent linking to automated evaluation and report generation. In doing so, it enables the creation of a digital twin in which data can be understood in context. This integrated, automated approach is a central and distinctive feature of our research.
Aviation generates enormous volumes of data. It is not only crucial to capture it, but to evaluate it quickly and reliably. This accelerates development, improves maintenance and enhances safety, making aviation more efficient and sustainable, while demonstrating how digitalisation can make even the most complex systems manageable.
