Argonaut bringt Europa zum Mond | Free

6. April 2023 @ 14:00 - 15:30

Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme, Robert Hooke Str. 7
Bremen, 28359 Deutschland

A standardisation of interfaces for On-orbit servicing | kostenlos

21. April 2023 @ 14:00 - 15:00

Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme, Robert Hooke Str. 7
Bremen, 28359 Deutschland

The need for On-Orbit Servicing has been increasing significantly over the past few decades and the challenges are becoming more nuanced and complex . Since none of the demonstrations in space till date have led to a reliably sustainable solution, it  is more vital than ever to focus attention on this topic and develop a path forward. Bremen, 28359 Deutschland

Working in the EDEN NEXT GEN and EDEN LUNA projects, we are concerned with detecting unhealthiness within different kinds of data.In this talk, I will introduce different classic and deep-learning-based methods for finding anomalies in time series data and present our latest results on the differences regarding the types of anomalies these methods can find. Based on this, I will present our concept for using these techniques to detect unhealthy system states in telemetry data as well as unhealthy plants… ...

ESA’s Hera Mission | kostenlos

6. June 2023 @ 16:00 - 17:00

Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme, Robert Hooke Str. 7
Bremen, 28359 Deutschland

ESA’s Hera  is the first mission to validate asteroid deflection together with NASA’s DART spacecraft. Its target asteroid Dimorphos poses no threat to the Earth, it was subject to a hypervelocity impact by DART in 2022. The main objectives of Hera are related to the retrieval of scientific information about the physical and dynamical properties after the impact so as to validate numerical impact codes. This will allow scientists and engineers to design and prepare for a real deflection mission… ...

Wireless network in space: ISS experiment shows new technology | Free

20. July 2023 @ 14:00 - 15:30

Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme, Robert Hooke Str. 7
Bremen, 28359 Deutschland

Wireless Compose is an experiment on the International Space Station (ISS) testing a wireless network using a technology called ultra-wideband. This network should allow astronauts and objects to communicate with each other without being disturbed by other signals. It consists of seven wireless modules designed to help determine the position of objects and astronauts and monitor their movements. In addition, the experiment should use the energy from artificial light sources in order to be carried out efficiently. It is examined… ...

Venture Capital – The right fuel for New Space companies? | Free

21. September 2023 @ 14:00 - 15:30

Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme, Robert Hooke Str. 7
Bremen, 28359 Deutschland

In the last 20 years, thousands of innovative space companies have been founded worldwide, challenging the status quo of established companies on many levels. These new space start-ups are often financed by venture capital investors. The German Aerospace Center is working on innovative technologies that have the potential for spin-offs. Technically oriented founders, however, often only have a very vague idea of what venture capital investors look for when selecting and financing start-ups, especially at the beginning of the company… ...

MASCOT on asteroid Ryugu – Linking remote sensing and returned sample analysis with a small lander | Free

20. October 2023 @ 14:00 - 15:30

Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme, Robert Hooke Str. 7
Bremen, 28359 Deutschland

MASCOT is a 30 cm x 30 cm x 20 cm small lander that was deployed onto the surface of asteroid Ryugu in October 2018 by JAXA’s Hayabusa2 mission. There, it operated for 17 hours and collected valuable data using its camera, radiometer and magnetometer. The presentation summarizes the findings of MASCOT on the surface of Ryugu and sets the results into context with remote sensing observations by the Hayabusa2 spacecraft and the recently returned samples from Ryugu to Earth.… ...
