The range of applications for Robotics in Medical Technology is very broad and includes surgery (in general), diagnostics, orthopaedics, devices for therapy, devices for rehabilitation, patient care and computer assisted surgery (CAS). The level of innovations is very high for almost all indications, triggered e. g. by digitalisation and the development of the so called Cobots (collaborative robots), which means humans can directly interact with the robots.
This symposium will present several examples for applications in the above-mentioned fields. In the morning session the speakers give an overview of the current status in research, clinic and industry. During the 2-hour lunch break the participants have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics. Highlights include Robotics in surgery/ diagnostics, Prosthetics/ rehabilitation simulation systems and Care robotics. In the early afternoon session, the European project ECHORD++, the European Coordination Hub for Open Robotics Development, will be presented by several project partners. Finally, in the last session, further applications and case examples in robotics in medical technology are on the agenda.
The participants will have a lot of opportunities for discussions and networking. Therefore, this event is a great chance for obtaining latest information and news as well as interacting with speakers and other participants. We would be happy to welcome you and looking forward to seeing you at the DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen, which is close to Munich.
