From 17 to 21 April 2023, the Hannover Messe will showcase high technology and innovative ideas to address global, industrial challenges. Under the central theme of ‘Industrial Transformation’, leading stakeholders from business and science will come together to present their solutions for a smart, energy-efficient and climate-friendly industrial sector. This year, the world’s largest industrial trade fair will include the topics of energy solutions and carbon-dioxide-neutral production, hydrogen and fuel cells, robotics, but also electromobility as well as automation and sensor technologies.

The supporting programme of the Hannover Messe brings together international experts from business, science and politics on one of the world’s largest knowledge platforms.

Live-Events/Livestreams

Live-Podcast at the DLR booth:

Future Fuels, Tuesday, 18.4.2023, 10 a.m.
What fuels will we use tomorrow? What is behind terms like “solar fuels” or “alternate fuels”? How do they move us forward in terms of environmental protection and sustainability? And what are the currently most important tasks and findings from research?

Live-Podcast at the DLR booth:

DLR – the German Center for Startups?, Tuesday, 18.4.2023, 2 p.m.
The German Aerospace Center is the research center for aeronautics, space, energy and transport, security and digitization in Germany. But how does research become innovation? How does it ultimately become a successful spin-off? And what awaits us in the “DLR_Startup-Factory”?

Live keynotes and panel discussion at the HANNOVER MESSE Tech Transfer Conference Stage:

With the theme ‘Enabling transformation’, the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) will be presenting technologies, innovations and successful transfer and spin-off projects at Hannover Messe 2023. The stand (Energy Solutions, Hall 13, D62) will give visitors an insight into how DLR’s research is making the economy successful and how DLR is working with companies to shape the future of the industrial, energy and mobility sectors.

One thematic highlight is the development of technical components (hardware? machinery?) and processes related to the production and use of solar fuels. Through this work, DLR is closing the technology gap and facilitating technology transfer between fundamental research and industrial applications in the field of alternative, climate-friendly fuels. These solar fuels can be produced in a carbon-neutral way using water, carbon and the solar energy arriving at Earth. They are essential for achieving ambitious climate protection goals in industry and the mobility sector, particularly those concerning long-haul air transport.

With its research work on the mobility of the future, DLR makes it possible to experience the Test Bed Lower Saxony using augmented reality eyewear. It also shows how the energy and transport sectors can be optimally coupled with the help of vehicle-fleet power plants. Another interactive exhibit also uses an app to illustrate different technological approaches to climate-friendly flight.

With the start-up companies Leverage Robotics and Volateq, spin-offs from DLR are also represented on the stand. Leverage Robotics develops highly flexible robotic assembly stations for the factory of the future, while Volateq offers user-friendly software to automatically monitor the condition of solar power plants with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles.

In the supporting programme of the Hannover Messe, DLR is once again represented this year by high-profile speakers, primarily from the field of space research and its industrial application possibilities.
